SHOWBIZ: Enthralling Final Fantasy music
THE Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) presents, for the first time, the symphonic concert Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy.


 Arnie Roth will conduct the concerts
To be held at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, KLCC, Kuala Lumpur from Nov 16 to 18, it will feature the music of Japanese video game composer Nubuo Uematsu from the 25-year catalogue of Final Fantasy which has captivated audiences around the world.
The concerts will be led by Grammy Award-winning conductor Arnie Roth who is renowned for his work with Uematsu and Square Enix as music director and conductor of various Final Fantasy musical tributes.
He won Best Score at the 2003 DVD Premier Awards for Barbie As Rapunzel, and was nominated for an Emmy in 2007 for his original song, Shine, from Barbie In The Twelve Dancing Princesses.    
Final Fantasy began in 1987, and this role-playing game series showcases spectacular visuals, imaginative worlds and rich stories.

The concert will feature local artistes Az Samad (guitar), Ho Chi Mei (soprano), James Long (tenor), Chi Hoe Mak (bass), Stephanie Van Driesen (soprano) and the Dithyrambic Singers.

There will be a breathtaking, exclusive HD video direct from Square Enix that combines stirring screen images to match the soaring emotions of the MPO’s music.
